Seer Data is honoured to be reporting partner for Philanthropy Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Funders Reporting Survey. This initiative is not just another survey; it’s a pivotal step towards reshaping the landscape of philanthropy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities

Philanthropy Australia, the First Nations Funding Network and the First Nations Governance Committee aim to ensure that the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are met by fostering a more equitable distribution of resources.

For years, there has been a glaring data gap on funding allocated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and programs, including who or where funding comes from and how it is used. This survey seeks to fill that gap, providing a comprehensive overview of philanthropic efforts and highlighting areas where more support is needed.

The data collected through this survey will not only offer insights into current funding practices but also set a benchmark for future philanthropic efforts. By understanding the trends, challenges, and opportunities in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander funding, philanthropic organisations can make more equitable decisions, ensuring that their contributions are impactful and sustainable.

As reporting partner, Seer Data has assisted with development of the survey and will analyse and present the survey’s findings in a dynamic, interactive dashboard made publicly available by Philanthropy Australia. Our experience working to enable self-determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and programs will help ensure that data is presented in a way that is accessible and meaningful, empowering both funders and communities to make informed decisions.

Call to Action

This survey is more than just a collection of data; it is a call to action for the philanthropic sector. It challenges funders to reflect on their current practices and to commit to doing better. We look forward to seeing the positive impact the survey will have on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia and beyond.

However, your time is needed to contribute to this important project. We estimate the survey will require 30 minutes preparation and a further 30 minutes to complete. Further details can be found on the Philanthropy Australia website via the link below.
