From Reporting Function to Service Delivery Innovation

For many not-for-profits, impact measurement can be seen as a reporting burden. Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) has taken a bold approach to rethinking how impact is created and delivered. Their experience shows how impact can instead be a catalyst for innovation and culture change.

In this webinar, we explore how ADA shifted from a traditional one-to-one service model to a one-to-many impact model, and how data activated impact measurement enabled that transformation.

Tim Taylor, CEO of ADA, along with Sandy Blackburn, Founder & Managing Director of Social Outcomes, will share how ADA:

  • Reimagined its impact model to reach more people
  • Embeds impact measurement into everyday practice and the core culture of ADA
  • Uses data to support service redesign and partnership decisions
  • Activates its impact report through an accessible, shared Dashboard
  • Strengthened philanthropic and donor engagement.

Assistance Dogs Australia’s mission is to provide life-transforming assistance dogs to people with physical disabilities, autism, PTSD and other special needs.

ADA has strengthened how it measures outcomes and activates its impact reporting through a live Dashboard on the Seer Data Platform.

Previously, ADA trained an assistance dog over two years for a single person. While transformative, this model limited reach and meant many highly trained dogs that didn’t meet accreditation standards were rehomed as pets. Today, through a partnership with Happy Paws Happy Hearts, dogs are trained and socialised on-site, supporting many participants over their lifetime. The result is a one-to-many model where every dog has a purpose and significantly more people benefit.

To support this shift, ADA partnered with Social Outcomes to strengthen its impact measurement approach and embed learning across the organisation. Using Seer Data, ADA has brought this impact to life through a secure, interactive dashboard, combining outcomes data with narrative to create a clear, shared view of what’s working and where impact is being created.
