Dashboard
A dashboard is a tool that visually tracks, and displays key data points to monitor progress of areas of interest. This is usually editable by the user and in the context of Seer pertains to the storytelling dashboard feature.

Data
Data is a collection of facts and statistics ready for analysis or interpretation.

Data augmentation
Data augmentation, or to augment data, is a data science process that allows multiple datasets to be blended together to expand a dataset and uncover richer insights without the need to collect new data.

Data collection
A data collection is an approach of gathering and measuring information from a variety of sources to get a complete and accurate picture of an area of interest. For example, a community may look at various datasets (or data sets) private or public to create a data collection to provide context.

Data collective (or data collaborative)
A data collective (or data collaborative) is a group of organisations that work together with a defined set of goals or indicators that they wish to explore with data. In the context of the social sector, a data collective or collaborative would be used to create social impact, guide policy or inform program or service delivery.

Data cube
A data cube is a multi-dimensional extension of two-dimensional tables. An example would include population and a time series further extended to include various locations for example State/Territory to further extend the depth of the data.

Data lake
A data lake allows all structured and unstructured data at any scale from a centralised location, or lake.

Data model (or data modelling)
A data model or data modelling is an abstract model that organises elements of data from various sources into a standardised data output.

Data science
Data science is a vocation or set of skills that combines domain expertise, programming skills, and knowledge of mathematics and statistics to answer complex questions with data.

Data set (or dataset)
A data set (or dataset) is data usually presented in tabular form. A column represents a particular variable. A row corresponds to a given member of the dataset in question. It lists values for each of the variables. In the context of Seer it will generally pertain to the Source in the Explore Data section and the main building blocks for an insight.

Data template
A data template is a predefined structure for collecting or organising a dataset (or data set). In the context of Seer, a data template may be co-designed with organisation(s) to help facilitate the collection, or to bring an organisations own data onto the platform to explore further and create additional context alongside additional data.

Data trust
A data trust is a structure where data is securely located on behalf of the data custodian to make it available for private interrogation by the custodian.

Data walk (or datawalk)
A data walk (or datawalk) is a means to interactively engage with a variety of data points collaboratively with various stakeholders. For communities specifically, it enables a variety of stakeholders to provide context on the data points shared and can be a means of tracking progress over time.

Derivative (of data)
Any data, publication, illustration or visualization, or other work that rearranges, presents, or otherwise makes use of an existing data set.
