Turning Complex Data into Clear, Actionable Stories
In November, we shared a preview of a new capability we were building at Seer Data, designed to make it easier to understand what your data is really telling you. We’re excited to announce that AI Insight Summaries are now live.
This feature is a practical step forward in our mission to connect, translate and govern data securely and transparently so people and organisations can turn insight into confident, accountable action. It brings together the power of AI with Seer Data’s trusted approach to data governance, transparency and storytelling, helping users move faster from information to insight, without losing context or control.
Why we built AI Insight Summaries
Across government, community and impact-focused organisations, we hear the same challenge again and again: there is no shortage of data, but there is a shortage of time, capability and confidence to interpret it.
Dashboards, charts and tables are essential, but they often still require specialist skills or significant effort to translate into meaningful insights that can be shared with boards, partners, funders or communities. Valuable insights can stay locked in data tools instead of driving decisions, learning and accountability.
AI Insight Summaries were built to close this gap.
They provide plain-language explanations of what’s happening in your data, surfacing key patterns, changes and signals – while keeping humans firmly in the loop.
What are AI Insight Summaries?
AI Insight Summaries automatically generate short, readable narratives that sit alongside your existing Insights and Dashboards in the Seer Data Platform.
Using AI, the feature:
- Analyses the Insight
- Identifies notable trends, comparisons and changes over time
- Summarises these findings in clear, accessible language, and
- Grounds every summary directly in the underlying data.
The result is data storytelling at speed, without replacing human judgement or local context.
AI Insight Summaries are designed to support and not override the expertise of the user. Users are given prompts to select tone of voice, length of response and auto-regeneration as new data comes in. Importantly, users can review, edit and contextualise summaries to ensure they reflect what matters most to your audience.

Designed for trust, transparency, and accountability
AI Insight Summaries are grounded in our trust-by-design approach. This means:
- The tool operates in a closed-system: your data is not sent anywhere outside the platform
- AI outputs are explainable and traceable back to source data
- Human oversight remains central: users decide what is shared, published or acted on, including being transparent about use of AI, and
- The tool aligns with emerging Australian and international AI assurance standards.
This is particularly important for regulated environments, public reporting and First Nations-led data contexts, where transparency, accountability and cultural authority are essential.
Who is this for?
AI Insight Summaries are valuable wherever people need to explain data clearly and credibly, including:
- Community and place-based initiatives organisations communicating progress across multiple stakeholders
- Not-for-profit organisations sharing outcomes with funders, boards and partners
- Philanthropic and impact investors seeking consistent, comparable insights across portfolios, and
- Government teams supporting evidence-based reporting and accountability.
By reducing the effort required to interpret and explain data, teams can spend more time focusing on learning, collaboration and action.
Now available in the Seer Data Platform

This release is an exciting step along our broader product roadmap: combining data, AI and governance to help organisations measure outcomes, share their stories and build trust with stakeholders.
