Seer Data & Analytics AI Transparency Statement
1. Our Commitment to Responsible AI
At Seer Data & Analytics (“Seer Data”), we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support innovation, improve efficiency, enhance accessibility, and help deliver better outcomes for our customers and stakeholders.
We believe AI should be used responsibly, transparently, safely, and under meaningful human oversight.
Seer Data has adopted the Australian Government’s Voluntary AI Safety Standard and its 10 Guardrails as the foundation of our approach to responsible AI use. We are also aligning our governance practices with ISO/IEC 42001, the international standard for AI management systems.
2. How We Use AI
We may use AI technologies to support activities including:
- Drafting and editing written content,
- Data analysis and summarisation,
- Generating narrative insights from structured data,
- Research assistance,
- Workflow automation,
- Internal productivity and operational support, and
- Customer-facing features where AI-enabled functionality has been disclosed.
AI is used to assist our team – not replace human judgement, accountability, or professional oversight.
3. Human Oversight
Human oversight is mandatory for all AI-assisted work at Seer Data.
We do not permit AI systems to make final decisions without appropriate human review. All AI-generated outputs intended for customer or public use are reviewed by a human prior to release.
Our team is responsible for:
- Reviewing AI-generated outputs for accuracy and relevance,
- Checking for bias, misleading content, or hallucinations,
- Reviewing privacy, confidentiality, and intellectual property considerations, and
- Ensuring outputs meet our quality and ethical standards.
Where appropriate, we disclose when content or outputs have been AI-assisted.
4. Transparency and Disclosure
We are committed to being transparent about our use of AI.
Where AI materially contributes to content, interactions, analysis, recommendations, or decision-support processes, we aim to clearly communicate:
- that AI has been used,
- the role AI played, and
- the extent of human review or oversight involved.
This may include:
- AI-assisted content labels,
- explanatory notices,
- customer disclosures,
- product documentation, or
- transparency statements within reports and deliverables.
An example disclosure we may use is:
“This document has been developed with the help of generative AI. All Seer Data documents have been verified by a human.”
Transparency is essential to maintaining trust with our customers, partners, stakeholders, and community.
5. Privacy, Security and Data Protection
Protecting data privacy and security is a core requirement of our AI governance approach.
We implement safeguards designed to:
- minimise exposure of personal or confidential information,
- restrict unauthorised AI system integrations,
- maintain appropriate cybersecurity controls,
- apply data governance practices,
- assess supplier security practices, and
- align with the Australian Privacy Principles and cybersecurity best practices.
6. Risk Management and Responsible AI Governance
Seer Data uses only company-approved AI tools and conducts risk assessments before approving AI systems for organisational use.
We are certified under ISO/IEC 27001 – the international standard for information security – and also consider the Australian Essential Eight cybersecurity maturity framework when assessing AI-related cyber risks.
Seer Data maintains governance, risk management, and accountability processes for AI systems and AI-enabled features.
This includes:
- assigning accountable AI leadership,
- maintaining AI system documentation and inventories,
- conducting AI risk and impact assessments,
- testing and monitoring AI systems,
- maintaining incident reporting processes,
- reviewing supplier obligations and controls, and
- continuously improving our AI governance practices.
We recognise that AI systems can introduce risks relating to:
- privacy,
- bias and fairness,
- misinformation,
- cybersecurity,
- accessibility,
- transparency,
- intellectual property, and
- unintended impacts on individuals or communities.
Our approach is designed to identify, assess, mitigate, and monitor these risks over time.
7. Fairness, Inclusion and Accessibility
We are committed to using AI in ways that support fairness, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and positive social outcomes.
We aim to:
- identify and reduce potential bias,
- consider impacts on diverse stakeholder groups,
- support accessible design practices,
- maintain appropriate human oversight, and
- evaluate unintended consequences of AI use.
We recognise that AI systems can affect people differently and we seek to engage stakeholders appropriately when evaluating AI-enabled systems or services.
8. Third-Party AI Systems
Some AI capabilities used by Seer Data may be provided by third-party vendors or integrated technologies.
Where we use third-party AI systems, we seek to:
- assess vendor security and governance practices,
- understand system capabilities and limitations,
- review transparency and privacy controls,
- monitor supplier obligations, and
- ensure AI use aligns with our governance requirements.
We expect our suppliers to support safe, transparent, and responsible AI practices.
9. Questions, Feedback or Concerns
We support appropriate challenge and contestability mechanisms regarding our use of AI.
If you have:
- questions about how AI was used,
- concerns about AI-generated content or outcomes,
- requests for clarification,
- accessibility concerns, or
- feedback regarding our AI practices,
please contact us at seer.support@seerdata.com.au
We review feedback and concerns through our governance and incident management processes.
10. Continuous Improvement
AI technologies and regulatory expectations continue to evolve rapidly. Seer Data will continue reviewing and improving our:
- AI governance practices,
- transparency measures,
- cybersecurity controls,
- human oversight frameworks,
- staff training,
- risk management processes, and
- stakeholder engagement approaches.
We are committed to ongoing responsible AI maturity aligned with emerging Australian and international standards.
